These Terms govern your use of Raflit (the “Platform”), operated by Hkoorp Limited (RC 9657146) (“Raflit”, “we”). By creating an account or using the Platform you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Raflit.
1. What Raflit is
Raflit is a marketplace where sellers list physical items and offer them via a raffle: buyers purchase tickets, and one ticket is drawn at random to win the item. Raflit is an intermediary that facilitates listings, ticket sales, random draws, and an escrow of funds. Raflit is not the seller of listed items and does not take ownership of them.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter contracts.
- You must be resident in Nigeria and able to receive payouts to a Nigerian bank account.
- You must provide accurate information and complete identity verification (KYC) where required.
3. Accounts and verification
You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping access to your email secure (sign-in is by email link). Sellers, and winners arranging handoff, must complete identity verification. We may suspend accounts that provide false information, abuse the Platform, or violate these Terms.
4. Wallet, top-ups and custody of funds
Ticket purchases are paid from your Raflit wallet balance, funded by top-ups processed by our payment partner (Nomba). Balances represent funds we hold on your behalf to enable Platform transactions. We do not pay interest on balances. Funds may be held while a transaction, dispute, or verification is in progress.
A Raflit wallet is not a bank account and is not a savings or deposit product. Wallet balances are not insured or guaranteed by the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation or any similar scheme.
5. Risk: you can lose the money you spend on tickets
This section describes the main financial risk of using Raflit. Please read it before you buy any ticket.
- A ticket is a chance, not a purchase of the item. The money you pay for a ticket buys one entry in a draw. It does not buy the item, any part of the item, or any right to the item unless your ticket is drawn.
- Only one ticket wins. Everyone else loses their ticket money. In a raffle of 500 tickets, 499 do not win.
- If your ticket is not drawn, you do not get that money back. Ticket purchases are final. Outside the specific circumstances in section 9, a ticket is not refundable, cannot be exchanged, and has no cash value after the draw.
- There is no guarantee of winning, ever. Your chance in a given raffle is the number of tickets you hold divided by the total number of tickets in that raffle. Buying more tickets increases your chance but never guarantees a win, and buying tickets repeatedly does not make a win more likely or “due”.
- Only spend what you can afford to lose. Do not use money you need for living costs, and do not borrow money to buy tickets. Raflit is entertainment, not an investment, a savings plan, or a way to make money.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Raflit is not liable to you for the loss of money you spend on tickets that are not drawn. That outcome is the normal and intended operation of a raffle, not a fault, failure, or defect in the Platform.
6. How raffles work
- A raffle lists a fixed number of tickets at a fixed price set by the seller.
- When the final ticket sells, a winner is drawn automatically and at random. The draw uses a cryptographic random selection and is final.
- Each ticket has a unique code visible only to its buyer; the winning ticket code is revealed on conclusion.
- A raffle that does not sell out within 30 days is cancelled and all buyers are refunded in full (see §9).
7. Escrow and delivery
When a raffle concludes, the pooled funds are held in escrow. The seller must hand off the item to the winner within 7 days. Funds (less our fee) are released to the seller only after the winner confirms receipt. If the winner does not confirm and does not dispute within the delivery window, the raffle is escalated for review. Contact details are shared only between the seller and the winner, and only after the draw.
Escrow protects against a seller failing to hand over the item. It does not protect you against losing a draw, and it does not make a losing ticket refundable.
8. Fees
Raflit charges the seller a commission of 7.5% of the raffle pool, deducted from the payout on successful delivery. Payment-processing and payout fees may apply as disclosed at the time of the transaction.
9. Refunds, cancellations and disputes
Ticket purchases are final and non-refundable except in the circumstances listed below. Not winning a draw is not one of them.
- A seller may cancel their own raffle before conclusion; every buyer is refunded in full.
- If a raffle expires unsold (30 days) it is cancelled and refunded automatically.
- Either party may raise a dispute after the draw. If a dispute is upheld, the raffle is cancelled and all buyers are refunded in cash.
- We remove a listing for breaching these Terms (for example a prohibited or misrepresented item), in which case buyers are refunded in cash.
- Where a refund is required by section 10 or by applicable law.
- All refunds are made in cash to your wallet balance, never as tickets or credits, and can be withdrawn to your bank.
Once a raffle has sold out and a winner has been drawn, the result is final and the tickets for that draw cannot be refunded, cancelled, or transferred.
10. Underage and vulnerable participants
Raffles are for adults aged 18 and over. If we become aware that a participant is under 18, or is a person who is vulnerable to harm from gaming activity, we will not pay any prize or winnings to that person, we will return the money they staked, and we may close the account. If you believe a minor has used your account, contact us immediately.
If your spending on Raflit is causing you harm, stop and seek help. You may ask us to close your account at any time.
11. Withdrawals
You may withdraw available wallet funds to a verified Nigerian bank account, subject to minimum and maximum limits and identity verification. Withdrawals are processed by our payment partner and may take time to settle. A withdrawal that cannot be completed is returned to your wallet.
12. Prohibited items and conduct
You may not list or trade illegal items, weapons, controlled substances, counterfeit goods, living creatures, financial instruments, real estate, or anything prohibited by law or by our policies. You may not manipulate draws, use the Platform for fraud or money laundering, or list items you do not own or cannot deliver. We may remove listings and suspend accounts that breach these rules.
13. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Platform is provided “as is”. Raflit is not responsible for the quality, safety, legality, or delivery of items listed by sellers, which are the seller’s responsibility.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Raflit is not liable for:
- money you spend on tickets that are not drawn, or any expectation, chance, or opportunity of winning that does not materialise;
- the acts or omissions of a seller or a winner, including an item that is not as described, not handed over, or handed over late;
- anything that happens when you meet another user in person to hand over an item or money. Arrangements made off the Platform are between you and the other person, at your own risk;
- losses caused by your own act or omission, including sharing access to your account or your transaction PIN;
- interruption, delay, or failure of the Platform, of a payment partner, or of a bank, and any indirect or consequential loss.
Where Raflit is liable to you, its aggregate liability arising from your use of the Platform is limited to the fees we earned on the transaction giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud, and nothing in these Terms affects rights you have under Nigerian consumer-protection law that cannot be waived by agreement.
14. Regulatory notice
Raffle- and prize-draw activities, and the custody of consumer funds, may be regulated in Nigeria. Since the Supreme Court’s decision of 22 November 2024, lotteries and games of chance are regulated by state authorities rather than federally (except in the Federal Capital Territory). Raflit operates as an escrow marketplace for physical goods, and where a state authority requires a licence, permit or disclosure for activity of this kind, Raflit complies with the requirements applying in that state.
Where a state gaming authority has jurisdiction, a dispute about the payment of winnings may be referable to that authority, and nothing in section 16 removes a right to refer such a dispute where the applicable law provides one.
15. Changes and termination
We may update these Terms; material changes will be notified in-app and you may be asked to accept the updated Terms before you next buy a ticket or list a raffle. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms. You may close your account at any time, subject to settling any in-flight transactions.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria, subject to section 14.
